How to play
One verse a day. Six guesses. Find the exact reference.
The goal
Each day a verse from the King James Bible appears with most of its words hidden. Work out where it comes from: the book, the chapter and the verse number.
Making a guess
Pick a book, a chapter and a verse, then press Guess. Every wrong guess uncovers more words. By your last guess most of the verse is showing.
Reading the clues
- Green means that part is exactly right.
- Gold on the book means you picked the right section of the Bible, such as the Gospels, the Minor Prophets or Paul's letters, but the wrong book.
- Grey means the book is in a different section.
- ↓ on a book means the answer comes later in the Bible. ↑ means it comes earlier.
- Once the book is right, the chapter shows ↑ (go higher) or ↓ (go lower). Once the chapter is right, the verse number does the same.
The sections
Law (Genesis to Deuteronomy) · History (Joshua to Esther) · Poetry (Job to Song of Solomon) · Major Prophets (Isaiah to Daniel) · Minor Prophets (Hosea to Malachi) · Gospels · Acts · Paul's Letters (Romans to Philemon) · General Letters (Hebrews to Jude) · Revelation
Daily and practice
Everyone gets the same daily verse, and it changes at midnight your time. Your streak and stats count daily games only. Switch to Practice to play as many random verses as you like.
Sharing
When you finish, share your result: a grid of colored squares showing how your guesses went, how many guesses you took and how long it took you. It never shows the verse or the answer, so friends can still play. Use Copy result to paste it anywhere, or the buttons to post it straight to X, Facebook or WhatsApp.
